About Stonewall
The back story behind Stonewall Equestrian:
Stonewall Equestrian is the result of a combined vision of Heath and Krissy Harris to create a world class equestrian venue on the Central Coast.
Purchased in 2015, Stonewall spans 110 acres and lends itself to both a private and a commercial equestrian operation. There are 50 acres dedicated to the showground and a 10 acre nature strip enclosing Popran Creek separating the public and private side “Stonewall Farm”.
The Equestrian and Racing Industries are the 3rd largesat GDP in Australia, although most participants are involved for the love of horses – not financial gain.
There is a huge equestrian community on the Central Coast, including Olympians and Australian representatives at the World Cup and World Championship levels. In the 1990’s Mount Penang Parklands was used for the local Central Coast Jump Club which took advantage of the beautiful grounds, holding big grand prix events at a National level. Once Mt Penang had a change of use it left the equestrian community without a major local venue.
Stonewall Equestrian will become an icon not only in the local area but on the National and International stage, with top level events being live streamed around the world. The stunningly beautiful Mangrove Mountain topography with a little help from the magic hand of Heath Harris has created a beautiful atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike.
An international-standard competition equestrian arena in the making, on a 110 acre property and upon completion we aim to have stabling for 250 horses and already completed three grass competition arenas, one sand competition arena, grass and sand warm up arenas
Stonewall Equestrian is a private facility, and is only open to the public on event days
Heath Harris 22/9/1946 – 2/4/2022
“I am so blessed that Heath has left an amazing legacy in Stonewall Equestrian. Heath was the creator, the visionary and one of the hardest workers who contributed to make Stonewall the most beautifully ambient boutique showground. His creative magic is evident in every part of Stonewall from the arenas to the rock walls and the lakes and meandering fences and roads. I will endeavour to follow his directions and dreams to see it to completion.” Krissy
Heath Harris was one of the world’s elite liberty horse trainers, his experiences of over 40 years in nearly all the disciplines of the horse industry brought a knowledge and insight to his training techniques that created equine stars.
Heath was a horseman before he was an Australian Saddle Maker.
Heath’s areas of expertise reach far outside that of being a Horsemaster, also credited with Stunt Coordination, Action Direction, Safety Officer, Actor, Presenter and Producer.
Krissy Harris
Director Stonewall Equestrian
Krissy has been riding showjumping horses since she was 13 years old. Training under Colleen Brook, Krissy had great success with her ponies Mr McGooley and Neseeka.
She met and married Heath Harris in her early 20s and took time off from showjumping to work in the film industry specialising in animal department logistics and coordination as well as assistant horse training and doubling for actors.
Returning to Australia, Krissy started a new team of jumping horses with Mr Popeye being the standout. He was NSW Jumping Horse of the year in 1996 and Krissy and Popeye represented Australia at the World Cup Final in Goteborg in 1997 and was on the Australian Showjumping Team for the World Championships in 1998 in Rome. Her career best was # 93 on the FEI World Jumping Rider Rankings.
Mr Popeye and most of her team were thoroughbreds and their talent was the inspiration behind the TSHA which Krissy is a director of.
An accredited Course Designer, Krissy enjoys promoting and producing shows as well as riding in them. She is passionate about the Central Coast equestrian community and looks forward to developing Stonewall as a venue in the region.
